The 2014 Château Mouton Rothschild has exceed expectations in this vintage and it is simply magnificent. This blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc has it all. It begin to impress with its utterly seductive and captivating aromas of ripe currants and blackberries, which are woven together with tobacco, graphite, dried spices, violets and mocha all bursting from the glass. On the palate this medium to full-bodied Pauillac showed incredible class and sophistication, as well as outstanding structure and polish. It is beautifully layered and concentrated as it remains beautifully balance and precise through the long, supple finish. The 2014 is absolutely brilliant and nearly impossible to resist even today. It will be hard to find a more compelling wine from the vintage.
