The 2017 Château D’Armailhac shows beautifully already in its youth. A compelling blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the wine really nice herbal tones with tar and black licorice on this expressive nose. Once on the mouth the wine shows good salinity and tension with medium bodied dark fruit and tar flavors. The wine maintains a good sense of balance and a soft mouthfeel throughout. I can see this needing a bit more time to come together.
