CHÂTEAU TROPLONG MONDOT Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2017

The 2017 Troplong Mondot is a sensational wine and a highlight from the vintage. Located on the highest point in the appellation, the 33-hectare estate sources its fruit from a single-block that benefits from ideal sun exposure, which is why it may have been spared, and only suffered minimal frost damage. Composed of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc this opens to stunning aromatics of blackberries and black cherries which come together with violets, licorice and spices which all build in the glass. The medium to full body is beautifully balanced and displays an outstanding combination of depth and energy as it heads into the long finish. This is an utterly captivating wine that should go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
