DOMAINE MATROT Monthélie 2017

The 2017 Monthélie comes from vines averaging nearly 55-years-old which are oriented to the southeast on a steep sloping hillside. This is elegant and refined, offers pretty aromatics of raspberries and wild berries, which are joined together with florals, herbs, crushed stones and licorice. The palate is light-medium bodied, with fine, silky tannins wonderful overall finesse and balance. This is drinking beautifully today but it should pick up some weight and character with some short-term cellaring.
