The 2017 Monthélie comes from vines averaging nearly 55-years-old which are oriented towards the southeast on a steep slope. This elegant, refined red opens to pretty aromas of raspberries and wild berries, which are joined together with florals, herbs, crushed stones and licorice. The palate is light-medium bodied, with fine, silky tannins wonderful overall finesse and balance. This is drinking beautifully today but it should pick up some weight and character with some short-term cellaring.
