The 2017 No Girls La Paciencia Vineyard Syrah is a drop-dead stunning wine. It instantly impresses with its incredibly complex aromas of black raspberries, bacon fat, salted meats, smoldering embers, violets, white pepper, iron, crushed stones and subtle hints of orange zest that all evolve in the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous medium body that is impeccably balanced with incredible finesse. It continues to impress as these characteristics reflect beautifully on the palate with delicious flavors of red berries, salted meats and bacon which are all underlined by a striking combination of minerality and acidity. This is a simply brilliant bottle of Syrah that is complex, layered and utterly seamless. Overall this is another gorgeous wine from Christophe Barron that is extremely accessible today, yet should continue to drink beautifully over the course of the next decade.
