The 2017 Pinot Noir from the Nysa Vineyard is a total beauty. This gorgeous Pinot comes from 30-year-old, own rooted vines in the Dundee hills. It begins with inviting aromas of strawberries, cranberry and wild cherries woven together with spices, crushed stone, fresh violets, black tea and herbs all taking shape. On the palate this medium bodied red is firmly structured, with beautiful elegance. It continues to impress as it displays remarkable overall balance and wonderful depth, with lovely acidity at its core providing a sense of freshness as it heads into the supple finish. Overall, this is a simply striking, age-worthy Pinot Noir from the talented, Andrew Riechers, which will certainly continue to drink beautifully for 10-15 years.
