The 2018 'Kaliholmanok' Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from Spring Mountain and it is another absolutely stunning wine from Aaron Pott in this vintage. This gorgeous wine begins to impress as it delivers incredibly expressive aromatics of dark currants and blueberries, which are woven together with exotic spices, mountain herbs, loam, wild flowers, espresso and hints of spearmint that all take shape. On the palate this is full-bodied, layered and voluptuous, with a lovely streak of underlying minerality holding everything in place. It goes on to display remarkable balance between gorgeous ripe fruit and well-integrated tannins, which results in a supple, yet beautifully polished, exceptionally long finish. This is already offering so much at this early stage, however it also shows tremendous promise for a wonderful evolution that could last decades long. Aaron Pott has produced a truly remarkable range of wines in this fabulous vintage and the 'Kaliholmanok' Cabernet Sauvignon is amongst the finest.
