The 2017 'Belle Cousine' is a fantastic showing in the vintage. This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot begins with wonderful aromatics of dark cherries, black raspberries and currants which are woven together with cigar box, dried sage, tobacco and fresh florals that all emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium-full body that is beautifully structured and balanced with a wonderful combination of acidity and fruit. It goes on to display excellent freshness through the long finish. Overall this is a gorgeous wine that is showing marvelous in its youth, but should also evolve gracefully over the course of the next decade.
