The 2017 Prapo Barolo from Paolo Scavino is simply sensational. It begins with pretty aromas of fresh strawberries and cherries which are joined by wet stones, eucalyptus, florals and hints of spice and iron, all developing beautifully in the glass. On the palate this possesses remarkable elegance and precision, along with fine tannins, which provide remarkable structure. It continues to display wonderful focus through the beautiful long finish. While this already shows signs of its brilliance, it also possesses incredible aging potential and readers should plan on allowing it some time to fully develop.
