The 2018 Matthew’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon is another stunning wine from this vineyard. It begins to impress as it opens up to seductive nuances of ripe black cherries, blackberries and blueberries which are woven together with violets, chocolate, loam and dusty minerals that round out the aromatics. On the palate this offers wonderful full-bodied richness with beautifully round, polished tannins that result in a gorgeous mouthfeel that is plush and layered. It continues to impress as it demonstrates excellent overall balance as it delivers loads of delicious ripe red and dark fruits, along with dark chocolate flavors that all build up to the long graceful finish. This is absolutely stunning now and will be ready to approach upon release, however it should also offer years of drinking pleasure ahead.
