The 2017 Gandona Estate Cabernet Sauvignon instantly begins to impress with aromas of ripe black currants, blackberries and red cherries, which are woven together with fresh florals, spices, dusty minerals as well as suggestions of fresh sage, cedar and dark chocolate shavings all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied with polished tannins and a luxurious mouthfeel. It goes on to display outstanding depth and concentration as well as remarkable overall balance and finesse. The beautiful fruit is underlined by lovely acidity which provides wonderful freshness as it glides into the long, lavish finish. The result is nothing short of a terrific wine, which is impressive today, but will also continue to drink beautifully for decades.
