The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is a late release from Mayacamas, which the release has been held back a decade. The result is a simply stunning Cabernet that immediately impresses with striking aromatics of red currants, plums and cherries, which are joined by pencil shavings, dried savory herbs, tobacco and dried spices, which all come together beautifully. On the palate this is medium-bodied with an elegant and refined structure. It continues to impress as it shows off its wonderful classic Cabernet character, along with remarkable overall balance and precision that persists through the focused finish. This is an absolutely fabulous wine from Mayacamas in this vintage that is drinking beautifully right now and should not be missed.
