The 2019 Beckstoffer Las Piedras ‘Los Compadres’ Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolute knockout from Carter Cellars. This displays an impressive dark inky color, with stunning aromatics of ripe blackberries, blueberries and currants, which join together with graphite tobacco and spices that all come together and emerge from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and impeccably structured with round polished tannins that are seamless and elegant. It also displays wonderful concentration and depth, with a gorgeous ripe core bursting with flavors of blue and dark fruits, along with gravel and spices that continue to build and linger effortlessly through the long graceful finish. While this is pleasure to drink at this youthful stage, the future should only be brighter for this brilliant wine. Production is limited, with only 85 cases made don’t miss the chance at this beauty.
