The 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon could be the finest release yet from the Zakin's. As always the fruit is sourced from the Zakin's Estate Vineyard, which is a 150 acre property located above St. Helena on Howell Mountain that is farmed by Silverado Farming. As far as the wine itself, it offers a complex aromatic profile of dark currants, ripe dark plums, black raspberries, spring flowers, exotic spices, mocha and hints of licorice that all come together in the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous full-bodied texture with remarkable freshness and purity, as it continues to impress with outsanding overall balance and precision. It goes on to display a beautiful ripe core that that is structured with polished tannins which grip a firm hold on the ultra-long finish. Winemaker Philippe Melka has crafted an absolutely incredible wine, which will require some patience and should have simply brilliant future ahead.
