The 2019 'Le Petit Clos' is nothing short of outstanding. Composed of 49% Carmenère, 30% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot this impresses as it shows gorgeous aromas of ripe blackberries and cassis, which are accented by graphite, spices, cocoa powder, violets, tilled soil and dried herbs that all develop in the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus to full-bodied and impeccably structured with beautifully polished tannins that envelope its core. This goes on to impress as it displays outstanding balance and concentration, with layers of ripe dark fruits that continue to persist through the supple finish. The Petit Clos is showing excellent today and should go on to drink beautifully for at least a decade.
