The 2021 Poggio Scalette Chianti Classico begins with wonderful aromatics of cherries and red/dark berries which are laced with spices, wild flowers and herbs which all emerge nicely from the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and beautifully structured with excellent overall balance. There is a remarkable combination of fruit and acidity that frames the finish as it leaves a lasting impression.
