CATENA ZAPATA 'Nicolás Catena Zapata' 2019

The Nicolás Catena Zapata is simply brilliant in this vintage. Composed of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec and 28% Cabernet Franc which was sourced from La Pirámide, Domingo, Adrianna and Nicasia Vineyards. This impresses from the second the cork is pulled, as it offers seductive aromas of fresh ripe blackberries, dark plums and black cherries, woven together with exotic spices and florals along side nuances mocha, herbs and loamy soil that all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is just as stunning, as it displays a gorgeous full body, with remarkable overall structure, balance and concentration, as flavors of pure ripe dark fruits and exotic spices continue to build lthrough the long, beautifully polished finish. Winemaker Alejandro Vigil has crafted a beauty of a wine in this vintage, and while its freshness and ripe character give this immediate appeal, it should also have an absolutely brilliant future ahead. This is amongst one the most impressive releases of the Nicolás Catena Zapata that I have had the chance to taste.
