Sourced from the very front of the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, the 2021 'The Grand Daddy' Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the crown jewels from this vintage. This is a simply magical wine that begins with incredibly perfumed aromas of sweet dark currents and blackberries which are laced with graphite, violets, crushed gravel and sweet exotic spices that all burst from the glass. On the palate this pure and seamless, with an incredible full body and gorgeous supple, finessed texture that is beautifully structured and balanced. It goes on to impress as it displays ourstanding freshness and purity, as well as excellent concentration and depth, as layers of delicious sweet ripe dark fruit flavors carry on to the long seamless finish. All the wines from Carter Cellars are absolutely sensational, however the Grand Daddy rises to the top. It is one of the most impressive wines from the vintage, and while it is irresistible today, it should also have an incredibly bright future ahead.
