The 2021 'The O.G' Cabernet Sauvignon is soueced from a selection of clone 337 planting in the Becksoffer To Kalon vineyard, and is another brillant absolutely wine from Carter Cellars. It immediately impresses as it bursts open with incredibly perfumed aromatics of ripe blueberries, currants and cassis, which are woven together with fresh violets, graphite, exotic spices and crushed gravel. On the palate this is full-bodied and dense, with incredible purity. It displays remarkable overall balance, with an opulent texture backed by beautifully concentrated fruit that continues to build on all the way through finish. This is an nothing short of a sensational wine that is already offering a ton of appeal, yet it should also cruise in the cellar for at least two to three decades.
