It is a remarkably stunning wine that begins with intoxicating aromatics of black cherries, blueberries, exotic spices, pencil shavings, tobacco, dusty loam, dark chocolate and mountain sage nuances that will have you mesmerized for days. The palate is every bit as stunning, offering a gorgeous full body that is structured around big dusty tannins that are beautifully polished. It displays outstanding balance and concentration with a wonderful touch of underlying acidity adding freshness that frames the layers of black cherries, blueberries, dark chocolate and dusty notes that cascade on to the finish. This is even more impressive on day two, so readers who will be approacing early should highly consider allowing this plenty of time to unwind.
