The 2020 Quintessa is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Carmenere, 2% Petit Verdot and it is one of the more successful wines from this challenging vintage. It begins with inviting aromatics of ripe cherries, plums and dark berries underlined by spices, cedar, savory herbs and hints of earthy mineral nuances all coming together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this continues to impress with its medium/full body, polished tannins, and remarkable seamless texture. It remains beautifully balanced and precise as it leads up to the velvety finish. This is a gorgeous wine that will be accessible upon release and should also offer a drinking window that could span two decades.
