The 2021 ‘Pure Magic’ is an another utterly sensational wine from Tor in this vintage. This years ‘Pure Magic’ consists of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Tor has decided to once again take the gamble and co-ferment the fruit, and the decision has paid off, with the result being a drop-dead gorgeous wine that is utterly seductive. It begins with incredibly perfumed aromatics of blue and black fruits that are layered with graphite, crushed violets, sweet spices, chocolate, gravel and licorice, which all explode from the glass. On the palate this possesses stunning full-bodied richness, while also showing a remarkable combination of power and finesse. It continues to impress with its fabulous overall concentration and focus, as well as outstanding structure, with beautifully polished tannins framing the deep core of dark and blue fruits which resonate through the long, mouth-coating finish. The ‘Pure Magic’ is as good as it gets, and while it is already utterly captivating, it also displays the characteristics to age for decades to come. This is nothing short of a simply brilliant wine from Tor and winemaker Jeff Ames.
