The 2021 ‘Cuvee Susan’ Chardonnay comes from the iconic Hyde Vineyard. Tor sources his fruit from within a small section of the vineyard, which Larry Hyde refers to as the ‘Small Cluster Clone’, as well as another small block of Calera Clone. The wine itself is sensational, as it immediately begins to impress with a gorgeous aromatic profile of Asian pears, peach cobbler, orange zest and lemon oil, laced with white flowers, honeycomb and crushed stones that all take shape beautifully. The palate is focused, precise and beautifully textured, as it displays a remarkable combination of salty minerality and bright acidity, which provides wonderful lift and energy through the textured finish. This is a simply fabulous bottle of Chardonnay that is drinking beautifully today and should continue to provide enjoyment for years to come.
