The 2021 Baker & Hamilton Cabernet is a fantastic showing. It immediately opens to wonderful aromas of ripe black cherries, crème de cassis, violets, dusty graphite, sweet spices and hints of sage that all emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous full body with beautifully polished tannins and outstanding overall balance. It displays notable structure and concentration, with layers of ripe dark fruits that are framed by a lovely touch of underlying acidity which provides a sense of freshness that persists through the long polished finish. Overall, this is an absolutely excellent Cabernet from Bruce Phillips that captures the wonderful elements of the vintage and will go on to evolve gracefully for many years to come.
