KIONA VINEYARDS Pinot Noir-Lemberger 2021

Such a unique wine in so many ways. First off, the grapes come from two completely different regions. The Pinot Noir, which comprises 75% of the composition, comes from the Eola-Amity AVA of the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The Lemberger (24%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (1%) comes from the Red Mountain AVA of Washington. Medium garnet in color, it carried a nose of roses and un-ripened cherries. On the entry, it showed fine tannins and loads of red raspberry, licorice, black currant, and pinecone. With time in the glass, it gave up some mild tobacco. It was such of a delightful journey traveling through the various stages of this wine. Tons of drinking pleasure over the next 6 years with this effort, where the composition and blending genius just flat out works.
