The 2021 'The Trail' is another fantastic release from Harbison. It immediately impresses as it bursts open with perfumed aromatics of blackcurrants, cassis and hints of blueberries that are laced together with graphite shavings, spring florals, gravel, dried exotic spices, iron and sweet oak nuances. The palate is every bit as thrilling, full-bodied and utterly seamless, with a beautiful elegant, finessed mouthfeel. The fine grained tannins beautifully frame the gorgeous ripe dark and blue fruit flavors along with hints of graphite and dried spicy florals which continue to resonate all the way through the long expressive finish. The Trail is nothing short of spectacular, and while it is simply outstanding today, the future also looks extremely promising.
