The 2021 Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon from AxR is simply mesmerizing. This majestic wine starts off by displaying an impressive dark inky color, followed by intense aromas of ripe blueberries, blackberry compote and black cherries which are accompanied by graphite, violets, sweet spices and hints of dusty gravel that all take shape and burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and layered with outstanding overall depth and concentration. It goes on to impress as it displays a wonderful rich, enveloping texture that is polished and well-defined all the way through the seamless finish. This is a drop-dead gorgeous wine that beautifully captures character of the vineyard and the wonderful qualities of this sensational vintage. While this is absolutely outstanding today, it should also go on to offer an incredibly long drinking window ahead.
