The 2021 ‘The Twin’ Red Blend is simply spectacular. It begins to impress with its fresh, beautifully perfumed aromatics of black currants, and dark plums, which are woven together with exotic spices, fresh tobacco, violets, crushed sage, graphite shavings, and hints of chocolate infused licorice that all take shape beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and layered, with outstanding overall structure. This continues to impress as it possesses excellent concentration and focus, along with a core of beautiful ripe dark fruits that are underlined by a lovely touch of acidity which provides wonderful sense of freshness that resonates through the long, polished finish. Displaying a fantastic combination of power and elegance, this gorgeous wine can be enjoyed in its youth, however it also has the potential to evolve for decades. This is an absolutely fantastic wine from Russell Bevan.
