The gorgeous Small-Lot 2022 Block M Pinot Noir from Melville comes from old-vines that are over 26 years of age, and was fermented with 80% who cluster and then aged for 18 months in all neutral barrels. More rich and decadent than its siblings, it boasts a medium ruby-blue core with a lighter pink rim in the glass and commences with a nose of crushed red fruits, mountain huckleberries, crushed gravel, saline, white tea, candied cherries, and just a hint of tangerine peel. A touch earthy on the palate, it’s incredibly plush with sweet tannins and lemony acidity finishing everything off. 547 cases made. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
