The 2015 'CVR' by Quilceda Creek is sourced from all of the Quilceda vineyard sites and is a compelling blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot with the remainder equal parts Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. This inky colored wine opens with an intense bouquet of crème de cassis, blueberry compote, wild blackberry pie and suggestions of mocha. The palate shows impressive minerality and weight and the silky mouthfeel evokes a hedonistic edge. Wild blackberry cobbler, crushed mint, milk chocolate shavings and graphite flavors entice. This is another gorgeous 'CVR' bottling by talented winemaker Paul Golitzin. Be sure to allow this extended air contact if approaching early on. (Best 2017-2027) - October, 2017 (OB)
