The 2010 Blanc de Blancs is a beautiful wine by Nyetimber. Sourced from southern facing vineyards located in West Sussex, the wine was stored for five years on the lees prior to disgorgement. The vintage itself was marked by warmer weather and a large and even crop of Chardonnay. On the nose this takes on wild mushroom and underbrush tones that connect with the citrus rind and baking spice aromatics taking shape in the glass. The palate has seriously good range, embodying lemon oil, toasty brioche and Japanese pear flavors. The sense of balance is excellent here. While marvelous now, this beautiful and elegant wine will continue to evolve well over the next decade or more.
