This stunning Gran Reserva Malbec from Corazon Del Sol is aged for 18 months in 40% new, 35% 2nd use, and the remaining in neutral. Presenting an inky, dark purple and black core with a bluish rim in the glass, it delivers aromas of stewed blackberry, sweet baking spice, burnt caramel, cedary herbs, toasted walnut shells, and white tobacco leaf. It’s much leaner on the palate, than the nose, with wonderful components of dried purple flowers, compressed blueberry, and toasted cinnamon stick. The acidity is in the high range, and the tannins are crunchy - this wine needs some time in the bottle. Give it a few years, and then make sure you decant it for a few hours before enjoying and it should age for a solid decade or more.
