The 2018 Terrassen Smaragd Grüner Veltliner was sourced from a low-yielding site set on granite and slate with vines averaging 22-40 years of age. Aromatically the petrol-infused aromatics entice, alongside shades of white flowers and bright pear that all take shape in the glass. The palate has notable weight and freshness with lighter orchard fruit flavors, that merge with petrol and damp stone accents added further complexity. This beautiful Grüner Veltliner is delightful today, but should also drink beautifully over the course of the next decade.
