It took the team at Los Vascos nearly three years of work to develop the ‘Grande Reserve’ Carmenère, but the debut release is here with the 2012 vintage and it’s outstanding. This bursts open with pure dark fruits like blackberry and blueberries, which are layered with tar, spices, savory herbs, graphite and crushed violets. It continues to impress on the palate with its gorgeous round, polished texture and wonderful mouth feel that makes a smooth transition into the supple finish. This is a flat-out delicious Carmenère, not to mention a remarkable value. (Best 2014-2019) - September, 2014 (JD)
