The 2017 Château Haut-Bailly is an outstanding showing in this vintage. This elegant and sophisticated red is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot this begins with stunning aromatics of red currants which are followed by graphite, flowers and crushed stones. This possesses a medium body that is well-balanced and structured with fine, polished tannins. It goes on to impress as it displays wonderful restraint and poise through the finish. This is already impressive, however it will likely show its best with a few years of bottle age. One of the finest wines out of Pessac-Léognan from the vintage.
