The 2017 Château Branaire-Ducru is a lovely effort. It begins with inviting aromatics of currants and red berries woven together with sweet exotic spices, pipe tobacco, graphite and fresh florals all lifting from the glass. On the palate this is medium-full bodied and well-balanced with outstanding focus. It displays remarkable combination of of ripe fruit and bright acidity through the long, polished finish. This should age marvelously and offer nearly two decades of drinking pleasure.
