The 2017 Plan de Dieu is composed of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. It starts off with aromas of black raspberries and plums which come together with lavender, herbs and hints of warm licorice all bursting from the glass. On the palate this possesses a lovely medium-body with wonderful balance and a mineral laced core. It offers lovely bright red fruits and herb flavors that are underlined by a mineral streak which all persist through the fresh finish. While this is appealing today, it should also continue to flesh out beautifully over the next few years.
