The 2018 Cotes du Rhone Villages 'Suze la Rousse' opens to aromas of dark cherries and plums which are joined by florals, spices, earth, herbs and minerals that all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied and displays an appealing velvety texture which is laced with flavors of dark cherries and spices that persist through the finish. A lovely wine to approach now or after a few years of bottle age.
