The 2017 'Clos de la Folatières' Puligny-Montrachet is simply brilliant and already showing wonderful appeal at this youthful age. This Chardonnay is sourced from Pernot's 45+ year old vines and begins with incredibly inviting aromatics of ripe white peaches, lemons and some exotic tropical notes along with white florals, sliced almonds and crushed stones that all develop in the glass. On the palate this is beautifully textured, and displays remarkable overall focus and balance and with a wonderful combination of minerality and bright acidity that framed the finish. This is a gorgeous wine from Pernot that is quite accessible today, yet should also have a marvelous future ahead.
