Another outstanding wine in this vintage from Pierre-Yves is the Puligny Montrachet. This was sourced entirely from the lieu-dit of Le Trezin, although it is not indicated on the label. The wine itself is simply ravishing, as it begins with gorgeous aromatics of citrus fruits and sliced pear, which are followed by stoney minerals and white flowers that all take shape beautifully in the glass. On the palate this well-defined with remarkable precision, along with a wonderful elegant texture, highlighted by bright acidity and a lovely mineral character that continues through the radiant finish. While this is already showing flashes of its brilliance, it will need another year or two in bottle to fully develop. Nonetheless a spectacular Puligny Montrachet.
