The 2018 Domaine Huet Clos du Bourg Moelleux is as spectacular as always in this vintage. The Clos du Bourg is unique from the other parcels, it contains the Première Côte’s shallowest, stoniest soils, which results in a distinct mineral character that reflects in the wine, as well as a notable textural richness that this vineyard has become well-known for producing. The wine itself is already incredibly expressive, showing gorgeous aromatics of orchard fruits, pineapples, honeysuckle and lovely nuances of pulverized stones which all work together beautifully. On the palate this displays a wonderful medium-plus sweetness, with a succulent flavor profile that lead by golden delicious apples, poached pear, honeysuckle and orange blossoms, that are frame by a gorgeous touch of lively acidity and minerality leading up to the succulent finish. This is a magnificent release that is utterly delightful today, however if you can resist, this wine has a remarkable track record for its ability to age for many years.
