The 2020 Chateau Laroche Bergan bursts open with aromas of cassis and cherries along with loads of licorice, iron, spices, minerals followed by toasted spices. Medium-bodied, well-structured and nicely balanced through the long finish, where it leaves a lovely trace of cassis and exotic spices. A very solid effort, but allow this another year or so to soften up a bit.
