Isabel Ferrando has produced another total gem under the Colombis label and the 2016 is as good as any of its predecessors. This striking 100% Grenache is sourced from 60-year-old vines planted to sandy soils. This instantly begins with seductive aromas of raspberry coulis woven, exotic spices, florals, herbs and spices all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied with striking purity and balance along with a remarkable combination of depth and concentration. It continues to thoroughly impress as it shows a remarkable fresh character all the way through the long, expansive finish. Already extremely appealing, this is a total knockout and I expect it to continue to drink exceedingly well for many years to come.
