The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Romain Duvernay opens to inviting aromas of dark plums and raspberries are underlined by spices, dark chocolate, wild herbs and florals all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous soft, plush texture, with concentrated layers of ripe dark/red fruits and spices which build up to the long, velvety finish. This is already excellent in its youth and should also go on to age nicely with some additional time in bottle.
