The 2007 Colpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco is absolutely gorgeous. It shows a beautiful deep color, on the nose this gives off loads of black cherry, mineral, licorice and dusty cocoa powder notes. Chocolate covered cherries carry over to the silky textured mouth feel which transitions into the mouth-ripping finish. Many people would call this "dry" but I call it old world Italian beauty. If you have some nice cheese definitely bust it out for this. Needs time to open. (Drink 2012-2020) - January, 2012 (JD)
