The 2019 Poggio al Carro Brunello di Montalcino begins with gorgeous aromatics of dried cherries and plum woven together with exotic spices, balsam herb, licorice, flowers, wet stones and hints of licorice which all take shape. On the palate this is refined and beautifully structured with silky tannins and wonderful overall balance, ending with a long lingering finish. This is a beautiful wine which is showing remarkably well now, but will certainly evolve gracefully for many years.
