The 2017 Barolo from Clerico is simply gorgeous. It instantly begins to impress with its beautiful fresh aromas of strawberries and cherries which are accented by leather, tar, eucalyptus, crushed florals and mineral nuances all bursting from the glass. On the palate this is just as impressive as it displays remarkable balance and depth, with beautiful fine grained tannins providing wonderful structure. It goes on to deliver flavors of fresh raspberries, plums and spices, which are underlined by a gorgeous touch of acidity that persists through the long, mouth watering finish. Expressive and approachable, the 2017 Barolo is sublime today and should go onto age beautifully.
