Marco Marengo's 2011 'Brunate' is an absolutely seductive Barolo, made with a modern flare. This rich, plush textured Barolo is layered and expressive, delivering aromas and flavors of blackberries, cherries, vanilla, mint, violets and sweet spices which resonate through the wine. It displays remarkable overall balance and finesse with beautiful silky tannins making for a seamless transition into the long finish. Even at this early age this is an absolute pleasure to drink, and I suspect it will only get better after spending some time in bottle. (Best 2016-2032) - June, 2015 (JD)
