This cuvee comes from the large Contrada, Feudo di Mezzo, which is split into upper and the lower, sottana. It boasts ripe black cherries, mulberries, ripe plum and strawberry fruits as well as notes of leafy herbs, smoke, sassafras, crushed stone, and rose petals. It has a beautiful medium to body, with fantastic elegance, with lots of structure on the palate. Give this a year or two in the cellar and it should drink well through 2035 or more.
