The 2016 Ribera del Duero Reserva 'Adalid'is a lovely showing. It begins with inviting aromatics of dark cherries, blackberries and dark plums followed by vanilla, spices, cigar box and leather nuances. This is medium to full-bodied and a firm texture framed by a nice touch of underlying acidity guiding it into the long finish. A wonderful effort which should continue to evolve for at least a decade.
